The DA has lodged a complaint against Bela-Bela Hospital clinical manager, Dr Dan Sithole, with the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC), following alleged “racist remarks.”

The SA Human Rights Commission has criticised government for its decision to raise the Value-Added Tax (VAT) rate by the one percentage point in April, arguing it is a regressive tax hike that appears to be 'constitutionally suspect'.
The VAT rate was raised from 14% to 15% on April 1, 2018, the first change since 1993.

As stats released this week reveal that South Africa remains one of world's most unequal countries, the South Africa Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) says more needs to be done to eliminate the concentration of wealth from the top 1% of the population.
According to the latest report from the commission, 64% of black South Africans are living in poverty compared to 41% of coloured people, 6% of Indian people and just 1% of white people.

 The South Africa Human Rights Commission Gauteng Provincial Office, will visit Hammanskraal tomorrow, this after residents complained that the water in the area could be contaminated with cholera and poor health care services at Jubilee District Hospital. The residents allege that the City of Tshwane and Jubilee Hospital have violated their right to human dignity, clean environment, access to water, health and access to information by its failure to provide them with clean water and to administer measures aimed at ensuring that their right to water and healthcare is realised.
