Protesters even went into sterile operating theatre, forcing staff and their patients to lock themselves in toilets for their own safety

The protest by health workers over unpaid performance bonuses at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in May was unexpected. This was according to its CEO, Dr Gladys Bogoshi and head of the Gauteng health department Dr Mkhululi Lukhele.
This was heard at a South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) inquiry into the causes of the protest and ways to prevent it from happening again. The one-day inquiry took place in Braamfontein on Thursday.

Man sorry for cruel ‘charous’ post

Durban - The man who referred to Indians as “f****** charous” and “low class rubbish with no morals” is sorry, promising to not engage in any similar conduct in the future.
“I tender this humble apology in good faith and can ensure that I am taking this opportunity to enlighten myself and to become more aware of those around me and learn about my neighbours and other’s cultures.”

When judge Siraj Desai ruled that some garnishee orders were unconstitutional, unlawful, invalid and of no force or effect in 2015 we all hoped that this could bring relief to consumers who suffer from the abuse and exploitation of emolument attachment orders.
Though employers are now empowered to scrutinise these orders and challenge them where necessary, but the practice persists.
