Johannesburg - It's back to court for Johannesburg businessman Adam Catzavelos whose racist utterance on a Greek beach continues to haunt him.

The businessman recorded himself remarking how happy he was about the absence of black people, using the K-word in the recording.

JOHANNESBURG - Adam Catzavelos is due back at the Equality Court on Monday on charges of hate speech and discrimination for racist comments he made in 2018 on a Greek beach.

The South African Human Rights Commission has condemned the attack on law enforcement officials in the Johannesburg CBD on Thursday.
Johannesburg metro officers and the police were responding to a protest in Rahima Moosa Street when they came under attack.
Police spokesperson Captain Xoli Mbele said shop owners in the CBD had embarked on a violent protest when the police wanted to confiscate alleged fake goods they were selling.

The Chairperson of the South African Human Rights Commission, Adv. Bongani Majola, will be conducting a Provincial Visit in the KwaZulu-Natal Province from Monday, 2 September to 6 September 2019. The purpose of this visit is to inspect and assess the status of some of the public health care facilities in the province. The Chairperson also hopes to learn more on the current state of access to oncology treatment in KZN following the Commission’s June 2017 investigative report on access to oncology treatment in the province.
