As part of the 2019 Schools Moot Court Competition, and following the success of Mpumalanga learners who participated in the Essay Writing Phase of the Competition, the Mpumalanga Provincial Office of the South African Human Rights Commission in collaboration with Department of Basic Education and the Department of Justice in Mpumalanga will be hosting the learners as they now take part in the Provincial Oral Round of the Competition.

The Chairperson of the South African Human Rights Commission, Advocate Bongani Majola, will be meeting with the Honourable Premier of Mpumalanga, Ms Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane, and her MEC for Health, Ms Sasekani Manzini, from 08:00 to 09:30 tomorrow, Friday 13 September 2019, to discuss issues pertaining to the status of health care in Mpumalanga province.

The South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”), Mpumalanga Provincial Office will be conducting an information session on the rights of women under the theme: “Fighting Gender-based Violence against Women.” Women and girls continue to experience violence in their daily lives. They are killed, raped and abused in many other ways often by someone they know, and sometimes by a stranger daily in the province.
