The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) says water in Hammanskraal north of Pretoria is unfit for human consumption.
"Independent sample analysis done by the CSIR confirms this. Some of the drinking water determinants . . .  can cause chronic health conditions to the residents," said SAHRC attorney Buang Jones.
The water sampling was conducted on June 20 2019 at the Temba Water Treatment Works, Kekana Primary School, Refentse Clinic and Hammanskraal Secondary School.

The South African Human Rights Commission has reached a settlement with businessman Adam Catzavelos in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court of R150,000.
He will pay it off over 30 months.
Catzavelos, who self-recorded a video in which he made racist remarks, has agreed to pay damages in the amount of R150,000 which will be paid to a charity that promotes social cohesion, non-racialism, social injustice and reconciliation in Soweto named the Seth Mazibuko Legacy Foundation.

Cape Town - The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) is hosting its backyarders summit at the Castle of Good Hope on Thursday, with a number of people turning up for the event.
The summit comes after fed-up residents from areas around the Mother City took to the streets to protest over their living conditions.
