The South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) will institute legal proceedings against Mr. Eben Etzebeth in the Equality Court on Friday, 04 October 2019. This follows a complaint received by the Commission in August 2019, in terms of which it is alleged that the Springbok player, physically and racially abused the Complainant in Langebaan during an altercation.

A life orientation teacher at a Johannesburg high school has been suspended following allegations of sexual harassment and grooming.
Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi visited the school on Friday after he was tagged in a video posted on Twitter showing a former learner carrying a placard that read: "Your daughter is not safe. The principal is protecting the predator."

The Limpopo branch of the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has launched an investigation after customers complained they had been sold expired medication at a Clicks Pharmacy.
The Commission's provincial manager Victor Mavhidula paid a surprise visit to the store in Thavhani Mall in Thohoyandou last week where he found flu medicine that had passed its sell-by date.

The EFF leader has caused outrage by sharing Mugabe quotes including: ‘The only white man you can trust is a dead white man.’

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) said on Tuesday it planned to take action against Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema for his “social media utterances” following founding Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe’s passing.
