A Benoni woman is scheduled to appear in court in March 2023 after being released on a warning for allegedly calling black people rapists and thieves and urging for them to be banned and killed.

60-year-old Belinda Magor was arrested on Saturday after a criminal case was opened against her. Her voice note went viral on social media, allegedly after making comments while supposedly defending pit bulls.

A Benoni woman who described black men as being worse than pit bulls and should be killed is facing a probe by the South African Human Rights Commission.

The voice recording was posted on the Facebook page of the Sizwe Kupelo Foundation which is campaigning for the breed of dogs to be banned and came a day when another child was mauled to death by a dog in East London.

Government has called for law enforcement agencies and the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) to investigate Hank’s Olde Irish Pub in Cape Town amid allegations of racism.

The pub has come under fire for allegedly only allowing black patrons to enter if they are accompanied by a white person.

Cape Town - The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) says it will request a review of the Reserved Right of Admission Policy, following an incident at Hank’s Olde Irish Pub where a 25-year-old black customer was allegedly racially profiled.

Thabiso Danca was the alleged victim of institutional racism at the pub in Bree Street last week, when he was barred from entering the establishment because he was a black person and “without a white escort”.

Why is white racism given more prominence by the SAHRC than black racism?

I note with curiosity that the SAHRC is assessing the matter of Belinda Migor, the woman who made horrific racist remarks against our black compatriots in a Whatsapp voice note recently, with the intention of pursuing the matter further.

This over comments Malema made at the party's Western Cape people's assembly in October.

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has issued a letter of demand to Benoni's Belinda Magor, who is accused of a racist rant.

TimesLIVE identified Magor, the owner of JCS Office Support, after a voice note was leaked from WhatsApp group “Pit bulls be my voice” last week.

In her one-minute, seven-second tirade, Magor said: “Estelle, I agree with you wholeheartedly. What I say is: ban the black man. They rape, they steal, they kill, worse than any pit bull could, and they get away with it. Ban those who are making the laws, ban Ekurhuleni, ban the black man. Get all the black women and cut out their uteruses and their ovaries [so] that they can't procreate, because they will all turn out the same because they are all the same.”

As we all know, our country excels in some notorious global indices. The levels of femicide, domestic violence, violence and crime in general are some of the indices in which we have excelled. Government has been under pressure to act to eradicate such crime, and it has, in the best way that it knows how – by amending the law. This is no small matter – there are some laudable changes made to the existing law designed to further expand the ambit of criminalising gender-based violence (GBV), and sexual offences, especially against vulnerable groups, such as older persons in care facilities, young women at universities, children, and persons with disabilities.
