The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) on Friday said it would investigate the circumstances around the incident.

Gauteng Health MEC Bandile Masuku has said four employees have been implicated in an investigation at a Mamelodi hospital after an elderly woman, Matha Marais, was found handcuffed to the floor.

Footage emerged on social media last week which showed the 76-year-old lying on the floor of the hospital with her hands tied to a chair.
