The investigation was initiated following complaints from members of the Hartbeespoort community who alleged that discriminatory practices were negatively affecting access to the dam economy and straining community relations.
The report outlines the key findings of the investigation, identifies areas where human rights were violated, and provides clear recommendations/directives to address the identified violations.
The SAHRC invites government representatives, civil society organisations, community leaders, and media personnel to attend and participate in this important event. The launch will serve as a platform for dialogue, awareness-raising, and accountability, reinforcing the Commission’s mandate to protect and promote human rights.
