Media Advisory: SAHRC Mpumalanga Office to conduct a stakeholder engagement on Children’s Right to Education

Attention: Editors and Reporters
Wednesday, 11June 2025

The South African Human Rights Commission’s (SAHRC/Commission) Mpumalanga Provincial Office will be conducting a stakeholder engagement on children’s right to education. Despite the significant constitutional provisions, Mpumalanga  Province continues to face challenges in ensuring that every child realises their fundamental right to quality education.

There are still extremely dilapidated schools, whilst some learners with disabilities continue to face access and equality challenges in education in the province. The primary objective of this engagement is to address critical issues affecting children's education within our communities and to collaboratively explore potential solutions.

In addition, the engagement is aimed at developing actionable strategies that will enhance the educational environment for every child, ensuring they thrive in a safe and supportive setting.

The engagement is scheduled to take place as follows:

  • Date: Thursday, 12 June 2024
  • Venue: SAHRC MP Office, 20 Paul Kruger Street, Nelspruit
  • Time: 10h00am

Ends
