Media Advisory: SAHRC Mpumalanga Office embarks on extensive Child Protection Week Outreach

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) will be embarking on a series of impactful programs of information sessions in observance of Child Protection Week.

This is an annual national campaign aimed at raising awareness about the rights of children as enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 and the Children’s Act 38 of 2005.

Child Protection Week serves as a critical reminder of the pervasive challenges of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence faced by children. The SAHRC is resolute in its mandate to promote, protect and monitor the observance of human rights for all, with particular focus on one of the most vulnerable members of society – our children.

This significant week shall be used to engage with children in the province, focusing on education, advocacy and monitoring efforts related to child rights and protection as follows:
