Media Invite: SAHRC Mpumalanga Provincial Office to commemorate the International Human Rights Day

Attention: Editors and Reporters

12 December 2022

The South African Human Rights Commission (“the Commission”) will be commemorating the International Human Rights Day (IHRD) aimed at promoting and recognising the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) under the theme: Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All.

Since the adoption of the UDHR 1948, human rights have become more recognised and more guaranteed worldwide. The UDHR has since served as the foundation for an expanding system of human rights protection that today focuses also on vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, indigenous people and migrants. The main objective of the commemoration is to enhance transformation of our society by acting towards greater knowledge of the universality of the UDHR.

The commemoration is scheduled to take place as follows:

13 December 2022

The Capital Hotel

10h00 – 15h00
