Media Advisory: SAHRC Eastern Cape to hold a stakeholder engagement with the Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF/Doctors Without Borders) Southern Africa on Section 27 and the mandate of the SAHRC

Attention: Editors and Reporters

The South African Human Rights Commission (Commission), Eastern Cape Provincial Office (ECPO) will host a stakeholder engagement with the MSF Southern Africa to elaborate on the mandate and powers of the Commission in relation to promoting, monitoring and providing redress when human rights violations occur.
Further, the stakeholder engagement will serve to facilitate a working relationship between the Commission and MSF to reemphasize the importance of section 27 of the Constitution. The engagement will also aim to strengthen the output of the Commission within the Eastern Cape as it moves towards safeguarding the rights of communities within the Province by means of cooperative efforts.

The stakeholder engagement will take place as follows:
