The SAHRC North West Provincial Office will be conducting stakeholder engagements with government officials, older persons, and community development workers, as well as monitoring activities in mental health facilities and police stations in Mahikeng from 30 August 2022 to 1 September 2022.

The objective of the stakeholder engagements is to engage with government departments, older persons and communities to raise awareness about human rights and the institutions that can help redress human rights violations, with a specific focus on the role of the Commission in promoting, monitoring and protecting human rights.

In turn, the monitoring activities are aimed at ensuring the observance of human rights in public institutions.

The Stakeholder engagements and monitoring activities are scheduled to take place as follows: 

Venue: Mahikeng (Mahikeng Local Municipality)
