29 August 2022
Attention: Editors and Reporters
South Africa has made positive progress across a number of critical areas since the dawn of democracy in 1994. Despite the achievements attained, South Africa continues to experience escalating rise in poverty, large-scale unemployment, and deep-seated structural inequalities. The challenge that lies ahead is how to promote the interests of the poor people, vulnerable groups, marginalised communities, and many others who are yet to enjoy the full benefits of our democracy.
It is within this context that the Northern Cape Provincial Office will be conducting a Stakeholder Engagement on Poverty Alleviation and Job Creation Opportunities. The purpose of the Stakeholder Engagement is to create a platform for various organs of state and public entities to showcase their products and make available various services that each is offering for the benefit of those who are interested in uplifting their livelihoods and standard of living.
The Stakeholder Engagement is scheduled to take place as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 30 August 2022
Time: 10:00 AM to 13:00 PM
Municipal Area and Town: Sol Plaatje Local Municipality, Ritchie
The Stakeholder Engagements will be conducted in conjunction with the following institutions:
1. Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform;
2. Department of Employment and Labour;
3. Department of Social Development;
4. Independent Development Trust;
