The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has welcomed the steps taken by the Swedish multinational clothing-retailer H&M to address concerns raised as a result of its hoodie advertisement.

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) will hold a follow-up meeting with clothing retailer H&M to discuss its plans to address its advert of a black child in a hoodie with the slogan “coolest monkey in the jungle”.
The advert sparked protests in January this year during which Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members trashed H&M stores.

Anti-apartheid leader Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, who died in Johannesburg on 2 April 2018, spent a large part of her 81-year life in Gauteng. She will be buried in Johannesburg on 14 April, and there is a 10-day national memorial period.
