The Free State Provincial Office (FSPO) convened a stakeholder engagement on teenage pregnancy in 2023, prompted by concerning statistics from the Free State Department of Health. The data indicated that between 2002 and 2003, 150 young girls between the ages of 10 and 14 gave birth in a four-month period in the province.
