Over the years, the South African Human Rights Commission in Mpumalanga (“Commission”) has received a number of complaints relating to sewage spillages and waste water treatment challenges in Mpumalanga. More recently, the Commission received such complaints against Nkomazi, Lekwa and Govan Mbeki Local Municipalities.

Today, the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC or Commission) commemorates International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD).  IDPD has been annually observed on 3 December around the world since 1992. The day is targeted towards building an understanding of challenges faced by persons with disabilities as well as the rights of persons with disabilities.

SAHRC vows to resolve refugee crisis

Johannesburg - The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) on Friday said they do not believe that the actions of refugees -- who camped outside the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) offices in Cape Town and Pretoria -- were in the best interests of the refugees and their children who were exposed to numerous dangers by sleeping on the street.

Racist Vicki Momberg hands herself over to police

Former real estate agent Vicki Momberg has made contact with police at the Douglasdale station in northern Johannesburg.
Gauteng police spokesperson Brig Mathapelo Peters told TimesLIVE: “Police can confirm that Ms Vicki Momberg on Wednesday November 6 2019, handed herself over to the investigators at Douglasdale SAPS after a brief consultation between the police and her legal representatives.”
