Bloemfontein’s water is safe to drink.

The water has been confirmed fit for human consumption and within prescribed limits.

This is after the Democratic Alliance (DA) proactively undertook comprehensive testing for contamination with untreated sewage at three vital raw water sources along the Northern supply line of Bloemfontein -Rustfonteindam, Mockesdam, and Maselspoort (Modderrivier).

Facing a charge of crimen injuria, Magor made an appearance at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on November 21. NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane explained that during the court proceedings, the State prosecutor requested the matter to be postponed to January 18, noting police investigations are incomplete.

The Blue, Green and No Drop Certification programme is a regulatory mechanism for the department to improve municipal drinking water quality, wastewater management as well as water conservation and demand management.

KIMBERLEY – In the wake of the Sol Plaatje municipality’s announcement that water supply would be restored to affected areas from 09:00 following repairs, many residents continue to endure water scarcity. The official update stated that repair work had been completed on a major rupture in one of the valves, with taps expected to flow by 09:00.
