Media Invite: SAHRC is hosting the Business Transparency conference
03 June 2013
ATTENTION: Editors and Reporters
The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) invites members of the media to the Business and Transparency conference in Sandton Convention Centre.
The aim of the conference is to have a conversation with business leaders, identify the issues raised by business leaders in terms of various themes including the importance of transparency for economic development and managing risks to attract foreign and domestic investment, access to information, right to privacy and confidentiality, whistle blowing, ethics, corporate social responsibility among others.
The Commission hopes that in hosting this conference, a number of issues will arise that will be developed into a report and shared with business stakeholders to craft a national action plan for South Africa in the implementation of the recommended UN guiding principles.
Minister in the Presidency for National Planning Commission: Mr Trevor Manuel has agreed to give a keynote address at this event.
The Business and Transparency conference will be held as follows:
DATE: Thursday, 27 June 2013
VENUE: Sandton Convention Centre
TIME: 08:30 – 16:00
The SAHRC Deputy-Chairperson Pregs Govender and Head of PAIA, Fola Adeleke will be among the attendees that will include representatives from various Business Institutions and Government Departments.
